The Halton Hills Film Database is curated and managed by Scott Brooks, as part of Vintage Acton, and is dedicated to the cataloging and preservation of the movie and television productions that were produced in their entirety or in part within the municipal boundaries of Halton Hills. Every effort has been made to ensure accuracy with the information presented on this website and is intended for educational and entertainment purposes only.
The project of creating a film database for Halton Hills began in January 2025 between Downtown Acton BIA coordinator Matthew Galliford and local historian Scott Brooks, combining both their passions for the film industry and local history.
During the initial stage of creating a film database, Galliford unfortunately passed away suddenly on October 30th, 2025 at the age of 50.
Prior to taking on the position with the Downtown Acton BIA in January 2023, Galliford had worked for a decade in the Toronto film industry beginning in 1996 until moving to Acton, Ontario in 2006. While in the film industry, Galliford worked as both a special makeup effects artist and an actor. Some of his works include Goosebumps, Dracula 2000, Ginger Snaps, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, and Resident Evil: Apocalypse. Many other credits can be found on Galliford's IMDB profile and TV Guide profile.
Since Galliford's passing, Brooks had taken on the mission of completing the film database in memory of Galliford, and launched it in January 2026 as haltonhillsfilmdatabase.ca.
Sources used for the compiling of information for the Halton Hills Film Database include the Halton Hills Public Library newspaper archives, the Esquesing Historical Society, The Georgetown Vault, Vintage Acton and the Town of Halton Hills. All other sources are as noted under the production titles.
